Topic: Selfish Drivers…

After Covid aka “The Blip” has anyone else noticed that people are a bit unhinged? Common sense and decency has been thrown out the window? Aggression seems to be the daily response in everyday conversation? “Hi” and “Good Morning” have become either an insult or a foreign ancient language? The elderly work force have somewhat lost their minds and are now regressing back to sexual harassment behaviors and saying inappropriate things like “As a manager, you should wear dresses to work”

IF you haven’t noticed or experienced this…WHERE DO YOU LIVE?

Seriously?! Do you have any vacancies? Because I’m FUCKING TIRED

Now in addition to that list above, with all these qualities of being unhinged, aggressive, let’s add “selfish” to that list. Don’t get me wrong if you’re focusing on your career and goals thats not selfish thats self preservation and I’ll let you do you. HOWEVER, if you’re an asshole on the way up to where you want to reach its a damn lonely ride. Fuck, i’m getting sidetracked again. BACK TO WHAT I WAS SAYING…Selfish drivers…

I’ve been driving since 15…I’m in my late thirties…you tend to notice things…well as a driver you HAVE TO be aware of your surroundings. Not trying to mom you all, but as a mom this shit is going to come out as truthful as possible. ANYWAYS, I consider myself an average driver. I know the speed limits, sometimes forget specific laws, but stop at a stop sign, use my damn blinkers to cut when I’m cutting lanes since my fingers work, and SHARE THE FUCKING ROAD.

However the issue is the entitlement when it comes to different cars of class, the drivers entitlement whether they’re the king/ queen of the road, and the disregard for anyone elses safety as theses drivers haul ass across the streets and highways. In addition to that, with technology booming, driver’s attention spans are completely shot. Do you know how freaky it is to be stuck in traffic to cross a toll, you look to your left and your right to see rows of cars with the driver’s head down reading whatever is on their phone? ITS SCARY

Then there are the people who CAN NOT and I stress CAN NOT multitask because they cause traffic by pausing creating a huge space where 5 cars could actually be waiting or swerving into cars because clearly their 8 pairs of eyes didn’t see the cars next to them. SIGHHHHHHHHH as you read me bitch, I’m fucking tired. The risk of driving shouldn’t be this massive shift of change.

Can we go back to the days where we just enjoy sharing the fucking road? Where there are cars and motorcyclists riding by each other not trying to provoke or start some shit. Rihanna sang it accurately, “Shut up and drive”.

To be honest I may bitch a lot but its just so rough to see my kid in the rear view enjoying whatever she sees and not wanting to add fear to her as she grows. I can only protect as much as I can but even for myself I just want to get to places safe and in one piece. Is that so hard to ask?
